In many parts of the Northern Hemisphere the hysteria surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have abated. Summer is in full swing, the economy is starting to breathe again, and in many ways, things feel almost normal.
Experts warn, however, that a second – potentially more lethal – wave of the coronavirus may be looming on the horizon, and the recent outbreak in China proves that we should not be too quick to lower our guard.
Studies have revealed one or two promising treatments in the war against the novel coronavirus, including dexamethasone, a commonly available drug which one study found dramatically reduces mortality in COVID-19 patients on ventilators.
Nonetheless, most people across the globe are pinning all their hopes on a vaccine to provide permanent protection against COVID-19.
Experts are divided on whether such a vaccine will ever be developed, but even if scientists do manage to create one, will it contain toxic, harmful ingredients like so many other vaccines already in use? (Related: Here’s what Big Pharma and the CDC acknowledge about the HARMFUL side effects of vaccines.)
As is the case with virtually every other medical treatment, vaccines carry risks of side effects and long-term harm. This statement is not subjective opinion, but proven fact. Even the briefest glance at the information leaflet that accompanies every vaccine – but is rarely ever read by those who get vaccinated – confirms that vaccines do pose real dangers.
Of course, the decision to accept a vaccine or to allow your children to do so is a personal one. As with any other medical procedure or treatment, each person must evaluate the pros and cons and reach the decision that they believe to be the right one for themselves and their loved ones.
Before any of us can make this decision, however, we need all the facts, not just those fed to us by our doctors and the pharmaceutical companies who produce these vaccines.
At this point, we have no idea if or when we will ever have a vaccine against the novel coronavirus. There are real concerns about how safe such a vaccine would be, however, especially since political leaders around the world are under intense pressure to develop and then mass produce a vaccine before their economies and healthcare facilities collapse completely.
While we do not know what the ingredients of such a vaccine might be, examining the safety and ethical concerns surrounding some of the vaccines already in common use globally raises red flags for many people.
The organization Children’s Health Defense (CHD) discusses some of the more concerning ingredients in vaccines:
Beyond the mercury-based preservative thimerosal, a known neurotoxin that has been linked to many serious health conditions including autism, vaccines are rife with other often questionable components, such as:
And, as the CHD warns, while each of these ingredients raises serious health and ethical concerns in its own right, nobody has ever done a study to see what the effects might be of receiving multiple vaccines at once or within a short time-frame, as is accepted medical practice today.
The truth is, if a vaccine is discovered that is effective against SARS-CoV-2 — the virus that causes COVID-19 — it will likely be rushed through human trials with even less than the usual attention being paid to ensuring that it is truly safe. The world’s governments will likely feel that they have no other choice, and the competition between scientists to develop the vaccine first will be fiercer than ever before.
